Russian Manicure vs Regular Manicure: What’s the Difference?
The Russian manicure has become one of the most requested nail treatments in Dubai — but how is it different from a classic manicure, and is it worth it? The team at Atelier 10 Salon in DIFC explains.
What is a regular (classic) manicure?
A classic manicure soaks the hands first, then shapes the nails, works the cuticles and finishes with a short massage and polish. It is comfortable, relaxing and great for general maintenance. At Atelier 10 our Classic Manicure is 30 minutes (AED 105).
What is a Russian (dry) manicure?
The Russian manicure is a dry technique. Instead of soaking, the technician uses a precision electric file with fine bits to gently lift and clean the cuticle area, reaching places a classic manicure cannot. The result is an exceptionally clean finish where polish or gel sits closer to the cuticle for a flawless, long-lasting look. Our Russian Manicure starts at AED 140 (cleaning only), AED 190 with polish, or AED 220 with gel polish.
The key differences
- Technique: Classic soaks and trims; Russian uses a dry e-file method for precision.
- Finish: Russian gives a cleaner cuticle line and a more “grown-out-proof” result.
- Longevity: Russian manicures typically last longer because polish sits closer to the cuticle.
- Skill required: The Russian method rewards an experienced, steady hand — and strict hygiene.
Which is right for you?
If you want a relaxing, classic experience, the regular manicure is lovely. If you want maximum precision and longevity — and an immaculate cuticle line — the Russian manicure is the premium choice. As Russian manicure and pedicure specialists in DIFC, we are happy to advise during your visit.
